Meet Larry Monkarsh

Larry Monkarsh, owner of LM construction Co is a third generation builder. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Larry undertook his first large-scale building project at age 17 when he built four new condominium units in Malibu.

Larry graduated from Cal State Long Beach and immediately jumped into his career as a commercial builder and property manager for EJM Development.

“I went into the family business of EJM Development right out of school, building custom homes in Encino, California,” said Larry. “In 1995, when the real estate market declined, we went into renovating apartment buildings and existing units. I renovated three or four buildings with about a $20 million price tag. It was then that I knew I had the ability to manage large-scale jobs and was meant to be a commercial builder.”

Monkarsh took his building skills to areas of the Southwest that offered the greatest opportunity. He began to expand his skills in Sun Valley, Idaho where he developed condominium properties and began fine tuning his business and property management skills.

In 1995 Larry moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where the construction trade was booming. Larry found work as a superintendent for Oldman’s Construction for his first year in Las Vegas. Putting all his experience to work for himself, in 1996 Larry Monkarsh opened up LM Construction Co.

Since 1995, LM Construction is responsible for putting up nearly 5,000,000 square feet of commercial, industrial and retail space in Las Vegas. Success in these commercial sectors, combined with refined building design and cutting edge materials & building systems, have led to the expansion into Utah, Idaho and Arizona.

Currently LM Construction employs a staff of 120 and is leading the way in industrial, retail and commercial real estate development in Las Vegas.
